Whip - It Wednesday

Hi everyone!

.

Happy Wednesday! I want to talk about the confusing world of 6 billion mtb tips…

.

I always tell my students there is no holy grail. There is no ONE coach, or ONE YouTube channel, or ONE book to rule them all. There is no perfect way to bike.

.

Building skills on and off bike is all about the journey! I, personally, just like to be a positive source as I help riders through this journey. So let me tell you about what YOUR job is.

.

Mountain Biking is a freestyle sport. An individual sport. A freedom sport. Sure you can be on a team and race and only ride in a straight line, but you get my point.

.

This means You are FREE to create your own STYLE of MTB journey. Your obligation is to ride as much as you want, set goals as high as you want.

.

You should also take a skills class. There are plenty of free ones in the treasure valley. Becoming a SWIMBA member is a great way to get started.

.

Watch videos and read articles. Just take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt.

.

Work with multiple coaches and explore different teaching methods to better master your “at home” practice. Working with myself, or Kim Cross is a great way to start.

.

YouTube channels such as mine, Kyle and April, GMBN, and more are great cherry picking opps, just remember, NOTHING beats having experienced eyes on you. So if you're testing a YouTube theory, get some in person feedback. K got it? Good.

.

Simply cherry pick the tips that work for you, speak to you, and make sense to you. Create your own biking journey. Be open minded. Working with a coach can help enlighten you on some things you didn’t even know about. So, you don’t have to have lofty goals, or consider yourself a novice to participate. Just be open minded.

.

I’ve linked one of my favorite videos. It’s chock full of tips for you to consider.

.

What are 3 biking goals you have set for yourself to accomplish before spring?
