Mountain biking is all about control, balance, and adapting to ever-changing terrain. It may sound simple, but keeping your pedals horizontal—also called the neutral pedal position—has a massive impact on your safety, stability, and overall riding experience.

When your pedals are level, your weight is more evenly distributed between your feet, allowing you to stay centered over the bike.
